EVERYTHING I AM, AM NOT AND ASPIRE TO BE.

I am a 22-year-old Polish citizen. I say that right of the bat, because I am proud of who I am and where I’m from.
English is not my native language. Born and raised in Poland, son of Alina and Radosław.
My childhood and teenage years in a post-communist country were, surprisingly to some people,
pretty damn worry-free and careless. Probably not so materialistically satisfying as for a
middle class family in the United States, but my family was overall happy and had
we had what we needed and sometimes even wanted.
I played sports, hung out with friends and partied like every other kid in Eastern Europe.
At age of 17, I decided to leave my country, in search for more. “Good enough” was never
satisfying to me … it still isn’t. I spent my senior year in high school as an
exchange student in a little town in central Ohio, USA.
My time was filled with studying (getting them A’s), Improving my English, plying football, basketball
and running track, and last but not the least – applying to colleges in the US.
If You are interested in more in-depth exploration of life as a foreigner,
I describe in more detail my journey to and through the "American Dream" on my blog -  Foreignica.com
It turned out, that I in fact was a good for for the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
I begun my studies in 2012 and after about a year of not knowing whether to be a
brain-surgeon or an accountant, I realized that my passion resides in Communication.
I added a Business Administration minor to it and here I am,
writing this bio for my personal website like someone who actually knows what he is doing!
My journey at St. Thomas turned out to be detrimental to my life and career.
I found a passion, which can be easily translated to a career.
It all started with my first film "Skaza", which was premiered in front of over 200 students on campus.
This first amateur production turned out to be a successful project and became a cornerstone of my filmmaking career,
as well as a foundation of interest in advertising, PR, design and … entrepreneurship.
In 2014, me and two of my close friends (also artists, students and entrepreneurs) registered BOME Productions as an LLC.
We became owners of a film production agency. Within a little over a year,
we've made over 30 short films, commercials, music videos and promotional videos for the wide variety of clients.
Even though running your own business sounds like a hell lot of work already (and it is),
I still had to be a student, an intern or employee and an involved individual on campus and in the community.
I’m not going to lie. I am a B student. Even in the process of striving for perfection one should know how to pick the battles.
Between my weekly 16 hours of classes, 20 hours of on-campus work as a department assistant,
5 hours of volunteering, 10 hours of internship work on average,  running an on-campus student organization,
devoting the rest of the hours in a day to running and growing a business, I had to find a balance.
It’s also important for me to having a rich social life, travel and enjoy life while
getting enough sleep (what sometimes becomes less of a priority).
Have I mentioned, that  I model from time to time?
I figured that not having straight A’s won’t be that big of a sacrifice.
It didn’t prevent me from receiving a full-ride scholarship towards my bachelor degree at St. Thomas.
At this point of my life, on the verge of graduating college, I face many decisions,
and many paths leading towards the goals I have set for myself.
I aspire to be a film producer. I do believe, that career in advertising industry is one of the paths towards it.
Moreover I am planning to gain a Law degree in order to learn more about international and trade laws,
so I can apply them to my business, my life and at some point have a sufficient background to become involved in political
and economical affairs regarding foreign relations, trade and development of culture in my country.
This personal statement is merely a biography or a motivational letter to an employer or a client.
It’s who I am and what I stand for.
